I believe the Ranger camp to be a micocosm of the entire army. I think you have to be at least a little crazy to join the army, and a whole lot crazy to become a ranger. I say that with all due love and utmost respect.

Actually it is tradition. During a training session many years ago, a helio went down. It was ranger students that was first on scene to save the helio pilots. So after that, all helio bird that flies ranger student out on the swamp phase to being their training load them up with food for the students.

Tha army, as well as the marines start everybody out as infantry. This is why a cook or deuce-and-a-half driver are equipped to use small arms and other devices in the event of being overrun.

The army, not everyone starts out in infantry, that is purely a marine thing now. Army training start at boot with basic infantry training, but after they go to ait for their job training.

Hawgwild,

After looking closer at PB avatar. It does look like a young tom cruise photo.

If that is PB in the photo,

Jeff, where are you? Shoturtle, he's only 19, he can't possibly remember the righteous brothers...

Since we have totally hijacked Jeff's thread, here's a pic to keep us honest..

Look familiar?
