Default Can the average digital camera act like a Polaroid?

I do work for a dog rescue group. We'd like to set up a puppy kissing booth - donate a $5 to the rescue, and get your picture taken with a puppy.

We'd like to attach a digital camera to a PC or Mac. We'd like to shoot the photo, and be able to quickly print same on a photo printer. We don't want to have to shoot the picture, switch the camera to download mode, open the software, download the image, and then print the image. We'd like to shoot the picture, see it on the monitor, and print it.

Is there a way to do this with a standard digital camera?

Thanks
Rog'

There are a number of cameras that have "direct print" features, where you can plug the camera directly into the photo printer.
(Not recommending this, just showing it as an example).

There are CF and SD cards with built in Wi-Fi which should fill the bill for what you are doing.
Polaroid has, or had, a camera called Pogo, which was a camera/printer combo, and Fuji also has one, though I think the prints are rather small.

The issue is finding a digital camera that doesn't have to be toggled between taking pictures mode and downloading pictures mode.
