Default low light new camera advice please

I ahve a c2100uz that i use for sports photography and am very happy with it.

However some days there is very bad outdoor lighting.. Floodlights at outdoor football games dont help the situation either..

Thus I want a second camera that dosnt have the same poor lighting problems and i can also use for indoors. Would need to be able to add a flash easy rather than built in one

Dont need the same zoom as the Uzi x3 or x4 will probably do and anything from 2mp upwards..

So whats the best for low light and indoor.

Any help appreciate

I would recommend the Olympus C5050. The c5050 has a fast f1.8 lens, photo assist lamp, moveable lcd panel, 3X optical zoom, hot shoe and will function very well in low light conditions.

Phil has most of the issues for low light nailed, but you should also look at the ISO the camera is capable of. That is much harder to do since the ISO can be (and often is) boosted to the point where noise makes it unusable. Or such heavy noise reduction is applied that the image has less resolution.

B&H Photo Video and Beachcamera both have the C-5050 in stock. Good Luck. Suzan

Default Hmmmm

I had very good results with my C-2100UZ in low light situtations. If you have not done so already try different settings. You might also look into the Olympus Fl40 flash system. It is expensive but the flash will zoom with the lens. I have used it out doors as a booster for shots of birds at about 100 feet or more. Along with the B-300 lens this was a very good combination.

Do not know about their reputation. Use google search engine with this statement

Try Wrexham Cameras www.wrexcam.com. They're my friendly local camera shop, but they do mail order, and have the 5050 in their current leaflet and on the website.

Good luck!
