Default powershot s2is

I have read a lot about the s2is black screen of death.But mine is a little different.I can review pics fine on the lcd,but it{the lcd}does not work for taking pictures.The viewfinder works fine but no lcd for pictures.Any help?

Don't know the camera, but my Minolta has a switch to change between them, and a menu item to keep the LCD turned off in picture taking mode, in order to save batteries. Maybe you have something similar and have inadvertently activated it.

Default no lcd to take pictures

No setting I can find to turn lcd off, Only to shut off after a certain time,thank you anyway

Try pressing your display button (labeled Disp. on your Canon)

With most cameras, a display button is used to cycle through available display modes.
