Yep, and the more we realise that previously we really didn't know much at all. I get horrified when I look back over some of my shoots from a year ago (even 6 months in honesty), how I managed to charge people for that level of work I don't know. I felt terrible when I was asked (finally) a couple of months ago for an album of a wedding shot in 2009, I really didn't like the standard of work I had produced when shooting back then.

I have an old coffee table book of Ansel Addams work where he says this same thing more than once.

I think we grow over time in any career and watching an artist (if you want to call photographers artists, which I think we can) evolve is something I find quite interesting.

I know this is presumptuous of me to say to a working pro but you see the evolution first hand which may yield perceptions of the album that would differ form that of your clients.

Great stuff Mark. I'm sure once you get back to the UK it won't take long before things are going great guns for you.

I would say it's only when you look back and can't see an improvement that you have to start worrying. :-)

I hope so but know I will have to work a 'real' job for now at least which after having one of two shoots a week for the last while will be weird.

I've just arrived home from the commercial shoot today. It was very interesting but also very tiring. It is a cleaning facility for tanks which hold anything from milk to acid and other forms of chemicals. I'm just downloading the photos and will get some up as soon as I can.

That's 3 days in a row, now 2 days off before the wedding in Cairo.
