Default How do I Re-size a photo to this forum

I am using Picasa, and use the export funtion to make them 1024, but when I post(sports baseball), the pictures are large?? How do I make them a little smaller?

In Picasa, is "1024" your only option?

No, I can make it anything, I thought I read here somewhere to make it 1024,,,ok....duh...if i make it 500 it looks better, is there a standard size that looks best in this forum?

1024 might be a bit wide. It seems most people use 1024x768 monitors, so probably 800 wide would be a better choice. I prefer using Irfanview, which lets me resize, and then adjusts the compression to fit the file size I choose. Photoimpact is my preferred choice, though, as I get a dialog box that shows file size as I adjust the quality slider.

800 on the long end is pretty standard and works well for most people.
