Default Does it matter if Canon is made in Japan or Taiwan?

I can't help it but I seem to notice every little detail to the point where it may be annoying! Anyways, I bought a Canon T1i a couple months ago at Costco and the price is cheaper now and in order to get the price difference there, you have to buy a new one and return the other one. Normally I would just return the new one I bought since it is unopened, but I notice that my old one is made in Taiwan and the new one is made in Japan (the bodies, the lenses of both are made in Taiwan). Is there any difference in quality, or known issues between the two? I just tend to think of Japan as higher quality, but with a big company like this and since everything is automated in the production, I doubt it matters, but just thought I'd check on here first.

does not make a different really. Taiwan makes high quality products, half the worlds semi conductors comes form taiwan.

But are you sure the body was made in Taiwan. That is a pretty new, as canon uses to make all their bodies in Japan. And depending on the lens japan or taiwan.

did the body said made in taiwan? I know the box and lens of my t1i is made in taiwan, but the body was made in japan when I looked at the bottom of the camera.

Canon makes lenses and dslr accessories in taiwan and Malaysia.

first run t1i were made i japan. now they are made in both factories. both factories adhere to the same quality control standards. individual variances account for more discrepency than country of make.

lenses can come from japan/taiwan/malaysia.

Yes I did look at the bottom of the body and it says made in Taiwan. If it doesn't matter, I guess I'll just keep the old one since I know there are no issues with it.

This question pops up every now and then, and really it doesn't matter. All of my Nikon gear is made in Thailand and I've never had any issues. Where it is made is one of the last things you should worry about (if at all)
