Default Just bought some new lenses, what do you think? It's addicting..

About 2 weeks ago, I bought the standard Nikkor 50mm F1.8 Lens. And after that I just been wanting more and more, I feel more like I want to do this for a living aswell. So I bought 2 new lenses today and a bag for all my lenses now.

I bought a nice used Nikkor 80-200mm F2.8 Lens. Seems realy nice.
I was on my way buying a new Sigma 70-200mm, but I found this, and the autofocus felt even quicker then the Sigma, even if its like a 20 year old construction =) And not to mention the Tamron, wich I found really slow focusing on my D90, wasnt impressed at all. After that, I went and bought a new Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 Macro Lens. I almost bought the 17-50mm. But read somewhere that this older one with no stabilizer is sharper. So I couldnt really find the excuse to pay almost double the price for it.

Just wanted to write of my joy, hope these lenses will perform well. For those who own one of these lenses. What do you think of them? Any tips for some nice photos/settings?

Feel like christmas came early this year, my GF wasnt that happy shopping with me today tho. Hahaha

Congratulations on the new glass. As for photos/settings, just play around. You seem to have a good eye so you are off to a great start. I wouldn't try to emulate someone, just work on your own style if you want to be successful. It's long and hard to get recognised as a photographer so don't expect things overnight. First you need to have everything nailed for the field you want to shoot so you don't mess up on a job, you need a backup (or two) of everything (body, lens ranges, flash, batteries, memory etc) and then the marketing and business skills to be a success. A lot of photogs who are very good fail due to the business side and some great business people who can't shoot well will succeed. The best is to get a really good photog and business person then you will be able to go to the higher end of the field you decide to enter.

Thank you very much Mark! That's right, and the last days I've been trying to use the manual mode only when taking photos, which is a big step for me, and I've been trying to learn all I can about shooting in manual mode, even the zone system =)

The buisness bit I think will work out fine, cause I am a very social and outgoing person, who seems to come along with almost anybody. And one good thing about me, is if I really want to do something, I will make it happend. Just need to start somewhere and get going. And really see if that is what I wanna do.

And the other thing is to find something different to start with in photography. I mean, portrait photos and wedding photos is not what I should be looking at, cause the market in that area is well covered in Sweden. But I actually have some idees that I think will work =)

And then maybe aferwards if it works good, and I've established my self a good name, then maybe I can look into doing some more "regular" photography as portrait photos and etc.

(Sorry for my bad english by the way, it's my 3rd language)
