Default Downloading picts from Olympus C-750 problem

Hello!
I own a Olympus C-750 Uz camera for about 2 moths now and there is something that is really getting my nerves.
I use Win Xp Pro edition, I don't know if it's a OS problem or camera one.
When I take some picts, they are stored at XD Picture card in order as I'm shooting.
When I download them to the PC, either using Autoplay Camera and Scanner Wizard or ACDSee detector and the Acquire wizard, some of the photos are downloaded and named at a diferent order.
Sometimes, even the 1st I've shoot is not the nbr 1 for that day folder.
Is it something I should configure at the machine? is it a problem with XP?
Most of pictures are ordered fine, but some don't!
I've talked to a friend that has the same camera and XP Pro also and he has the same problem that I have.
Please give me a hand!
Love,
Andrea Oliveira

Have you done any incamera deletes? I've done this with a different Oly and had the same problem (same operating system) and think this is the reason. Anybody else...

Hello!
I've just tried it with a couple of shots and didn't delete any of them on the camera. The same problem happens so, I don0t think that is the reason, right?
I've tried it without changing the files name automatically and they came up with right order. Perhaps that's the reason right? Go figure out why!

Love,
Andrea

Default Drag and Drop from Detail view, not thumbnail view

If you are dragging and dropping thumbnails, the order may be left to right rather than sequential. Try listing the pics in Details, and make sure they are sorted the way you want. Then, they should transfer from top to bottom on your screen. If this isn't your problem, please let us know.

Hello!
My problem is not that!
I found that it only happens when I rename the files as I'm transfering them.
If I mantain the file's name, it appears by the right order.
I don't understand why!
Can you give a an explanation?
Love,
Andrea

I've only transfered pics using a card reader, and haven't had this problem. I'm sorry, but I am unable to transfer directly from my camera because it was made before AutoUSB was supported.

The only advice I can give with my limited experience is to try a card reader. They're cheap, and you won't have to use the camera's batteries during transfer. I haven't had any problems as you have described using the card reader with XP Home Edition for transfer. Perhaps someone else out there can be more helpful!

I believe the total reason is just what you described, mainly the re-name.. Now you have told windoz to sort by name and you may have stripped off the exif data also.
