loc-man,
Are you sure you selected the "WINDOWS COMPONENTS" option and NOT the "REMOVE/CHANGE PROGRAMS" option. I believe the remove/change programs will only remove the shortcut/references but the "WINDOWS COMPONENTS" option should remove it all.

yes, it even tells you in the description of it under add/remove compenents

I dont think this will be the answer anyway as I have done a reinstall of the whole system since I had the camera and it didnt work after the reinstall either

any other help please?

Default mjpeg-1 codec problem

You probably don't have the right codec installed, I would try one of the many codecs for mjpegs found here: http://dshow.narod.ru/

The m3jpeg codec is what I have used before to play those files in windows media player. Good Luck
