Maybe due to the compressed gas expanding it is so cold that you might shatter a lens? ....dunno *shrugs*

i agree with bradg, at work that is all we use to clean lenses. lenspens tend to work much more effectively than your average cleaning cloth.

A camel brush or puffer brush is a *far* better tool.
