Default SB-50DX helping Coolpix 5700 AF?

Hello people,

I am considering buying a SB-50DX to replace the popup flash on the CP5700 for regular shooting and to supplement my Vivitar 285 for studio work. I do have a question, though....

Will the infrared emitter on the flash help with the absymal low-light autofocus performance of the CP5700?

Thanks for your help!!!

No! The 5700 does not activate the AF assistant lamp on the SB50DX.
