Default Protective film for monitor screen

I just got a Canon S50 and was wondering how to protect my screen from wear. They make clear films for PDAs that stick and protect those screens. I plan to just cut it to size and paste it on there.

Anyone try this or know of anyone who tried this, and did it work out?

They work pretty well, but hinder just slightly in viewing images during playback. The protection they offer outweigths this drawback though. I once used such film on my old E-10 to protect it from road debris, while I held the camera almost at pavement level in a moving car. They are cheap too, and you get plenty in a packet to last you a LONG time

My camera already has a cover, so I haven't tried it... but I've heard of others saying they did it and it worked fairly well for them.
