I guess if you don't want to use eBay you could always take out an ad in the paper. Here are some suggestions:

1) Contact local camera clubs

2) Find a photo/camera trade magazine/website

3) ad in local paper (as mentioned above)

4) pawn shop

5) Camera shop (local, or big time place like Adorama or B&H will buy used equipment).

IMO eBay would be the better way to go

i could buy one at wallmart and take it back, but will they take back a used camera?

Could you find a shot online, say the manufacturers website perhaps? I'm not sure about the legalities of it, but I would think that as long you put under the picture that the picture represents the camera, but it not the actual camera, it should be okay..

I would've thought that anyway.

Just read an article saying that what I suggested may be very much frowned upon by some companies. Please ignore my advice

In the days B.D. (before my DigiCam) I would just grab an image off the web and put a disclaimer that the picture is not of the actual item. Depending what it was and how big it was, I would put the item on my flatbed scanner and scan it in!

http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/10

Is for selling stuff.

naturephotographer.net does, but they really only deal in DSLR stuff. They might be interesting in other things, I don't know... but they take their photography very seriously, so most have DSLRs at least for their major work.

Posting an ad in a local camera store (that allows such things) is not a bad option, especially if its near a university.
