Default Going on holiday without Lap Top but with Camera ?

Hi All, i am going on holiday for a week with my Olympus camera, to charge it up i normally have to charge it up through a USB socket on my Lap Top.

My missus wont let me take my Lap Top with me LOL, so i wonder if it is ok to charge it up with my iPhone charger plugged into the mains ?.

Charging is charging. USB charging is USB charging.

You can also get portable charging devices which will recharge your camera two or three times when you are away from mains service. Be sure to take extra memory cards as well, since you won't have the laptop to upload your photos.

Alternatively, you could get an Eye-Fi card, that will upload your photos to your Smartphone, which can upload your photos directly to Flickr, Picasa, Smugmug, Facebook, etc. (Data charges apply.)

Ok Lads/Lasses thank you very much, i always get confused with output of Watts that various chargers dish out, thanks for confirming i am ok using iPhone charger mains plug via USB cable.

I have a 32gig Memory card installed which i have barely started to fill up. and i have a spare battery so for the ammount of time i am going to be using the camera i should be OK.

Thanks

Tim

Well, that actually should have read 'since you won't have a laptop to which to upload your photos.' That is an awkward construction, though, and I hate to end a sentence with a preposition. (Oh, where are you getting out of prison to?)

I think should be fine without laptop, but better bring charger and several memory cards for camera.

Your iPhone charger could work. Be sure to test it before you leave on vacation. I use my iPad charger to recharge other USB devices.

The use of USB for charging batteries (, etc.) is a well established convention. So long as the device end of a cable is compatible with the device, any USB charger should work as well for one device as another.
