I did a search and downloaded a few programs that say picture recovery and they don't guide you through anything and I cant figure how to get or if we can get a couple pictures back, we have yet to take anymore pictures since we deleted the photos any help would be great.

Drop down to the forum titled Memory Cards, Microdrives, Card Readers. There are quite a few threads on this subject. If you haven't overwritten the photos, they should be recoverable.

Certainly is. As a matter of fact, when I purchased a used camera with some extra memory cards that the seller had formatted before selling, I (just as an experiment) processed them with recovery software, after shooting some pictures of my own to the cards and another format. I recovered not only my own photos, but quite a number of shots from the previous owner.
Just as a precaution, it is a good idea when selling something with memory, to use a good erasing program first.

I think you are right at not shooting more photos after you realize that photos are deleted. Last time I deleted photos from my digital camera, then I didn't know about this, I continued to use the camera, then when I back home, I started to work on photo recovery, then I found this digital camera deleted photos recovery guide which helped me restored some of deleted photos, but not all deleted photos are recoverable, because I continued used the camera and some of deleted photos are overwritten by new photos. quite sad but no better choice.
