Default OT: Windows Security Update

I know this is off-topic, but since I figured since most people use Windows as their OS the following would be of interest:

Microsoft is offering an update CD for W98, W98Se, WinMe, Win2K & XP with **ALL** security updates through Oct `03.

This would be handy if you ever had to re-install your OS!

Just bookmarked the spot so I can put in an order today. You're right about how handy it would be when having to reinstall Windows, which, as we all know, is inevitable.

3 things that are ineveitable: death, taxes, and having to reinstall Windows

Thanks.

I've heard horror stories of someone being hit by one of those exploits while waiting to finish their first updates.

You are a Godsend.
Not everyone has a broadband connection to Microsoft and getting those updates are a chore over the Internet sometimes.

How much does it cost, though? It would definitely be nice not to have to download the updates, but then again, downloading them is free...

Yep, it's free, and I wish I had it now because my computer decided to crap out on me!

Of course it did. It knew you were considering ordering the disk, so it hurried the process of messing itself up. It's out to get you.
