Default Flicker Help

How do you get a thumbnail picture to show in a post that links to your Flicker account?

While browsing your Photostream, under the photo you want to appear as a thumbnail in your post here, click on the icon that looks like an arrow jumping out of a box.

In the dialog box that appears, click on Grab the HTML/BBCode. Some code will appear in the edit box. Below the edit box are some settings that you must choose in order to get what you want. The first is the size of the image you want, and the second is the format for the code. Select the size of the image you want to appear, and select BBCode. (Steves-Digicams.com does not accept the other choices, Embed and HTML, only BBCode.) Once those options are selected, the code in the edit box will produce the image you want to appear in your post here. Click on the box, and all the code will be selected. Copy it and paste it in your post here:

The image will appear in the size you selected, and will be a link back to the full size image in your Flickr Photostream. I generally delete the extra links and text below the image, but that's up to you.

Thanks for the reply.
There is no icon, tried all icons, that bring up a dialog box with HTML/BBcode. I must have something set up wrong in my Flicker account.
Oh well back to the drawing board.

Thanks again,
Craig

G'day mate

Try this ...

1) Enter FLickr > open the Album, > open the photo onto the screen

All being well you'll see this ...

Note the 'arrow thingy' that TC was referring to at the lower RHS

2) Click on the 'arrow' to get ... [note that BBCode is selected]

and choose the size you're after ... I use 800px for 99% of my internet postings

Within Steve's [and other] forum you'll see ...

Hope all this works for you

Phil

There is no icon with an arrow pointing to a line anywhere on my Flicker pictures. Do have a double arrow that makes the picture bigger or smaller. I looked in Photostream and my albums.

JOOC, you're trying this with one of your own photos in your own Photostream, right?

The procedure Ozzie_Traveller and I are talking about doesn't apply if you're trying to do this with someone else's photo.

Only working with my own photos. This is sure making me feel dumb.
Does give me idea for our next photo club meeting talk. The club said they were looking for new ideas to talk about on processing pictures.

Found the icon, box with an arrow jumping out. Only thing is it only shows up on my iPad. Think it has something to do with how I log into my account. Will try logging out and back into my Flicker account and see if that works.

Thanks for the help,
Craig
