Default LED ring light for Macro

Looking for opinions on the best ring light for macro.

Using a D7100.

Would like to be in for less than $125 for the light.

Also what lenses are you using for macro?

TIA

Hi

Personally I would stay away from the LED Versions, they are just not bright enough for real life macro use, unless you are happy shooting a 1/30 @ f2.8 which not what you want in the macro world. Also with flash the very brief duration of the flash freezes movement, both subject and camera, the continuous LED lights don't do either.

Get a cheap manual ring flash and you will get much better results with a little experimentation.

Looked at a couple of these recently, and some of them have GN of up to 15, which should be more than enough for macro work. The inexpensive ones won't have TTL compatibility with your camera, though, so you would have to use them in continuous mode as source lights and let the camera figure out exposure, or as a manual flash.
I haven't used one myself, though, so take this with a grain of salt.
