Default pixel bug

hello to everyone. i'm new to digital photography and might be a dummy question but i've got to ask.. it's bugging me quite a bit.. I just got a brand new Nikon coolpix 5700 a week ago and yesterday noticed some odd pixel in every picture I take.. browsed throough my first pictures and i couldn't find it.. now it's on every single image at the very the same coordinates... what is it?! why is it happening?! pls help

My advice is to return your camera to the store that you bought it from,and exchange it for one which does not have "hot pixels".I got though 3 Olympus 3030s which all had "hot pixels".This should not be happening at everyday shutter speeds.

Do the pixels go bad, or are they bad from the factory? I mean can they go bad through prolonged use (or abuse)?
