Why spend all that money on such sophisticated cameras and then shoot in Program mode. Explain to your wife that she would probably be happier with a less complicated camera that has a smaller learning curve....and then go buy her a nikon 5700. Or you could show her who the boss is and get the Minolta A2 and then spend your evenings learning how to use it........Alone!! :lol:

I have the Nikon and love it, but simple it is not. It has a very steep learning curve, that is well worth the effort. It is capable of great pictures, and after several thousand I am getting good results. If you buy it as a point and shoot though, you will never be happy with it. Only by reading, playing, reading.. you get the picture, will you get what this camera is capable of..

Keep her happy though and you will stay happy :-)

Caught between Nikon and Minolta - the only reasonable solution is to go Canon! Pro1 - if and when they're available.
