Default Help with 4 Gig Hitachi Card Please

I know by now that many people are buy a MuVo mp3 player (about 200 dollars) and taking it's 4 gig microdrive out of it for camera use. If you have any info on the below questions please share...

1 - I heard a rumor about this card may soon be soldered in the mp3 player -- is this true, or will it always be easily detachable?

2 - I am not exactly sure of the speed of this 4 gig Hitachi MD from the Muvo mp3 player. With the Canon S1 IS, will it be able to record the maximum length (1 gig or about 8 min. and 40 sec.) movie clip - 640 x 480 Fine mode at 30 fps? I am just wondering if it is too slow to keep up with the movie mode without falling behind.

Thanks -- PLEASE POST ANYTHING YOU KNOW!!!

Can't remember where I originally saw the post (which message board) but someone canibalized their Muvo and photographed the results. Inevitably the serial numbers matched standard 4GB hitachi drive specifications meaning that they are in fact normal/standard drives w/o any de-tuning.

No truth at all, the Microdrive is -not- soldered in place, it can't be, it is simply plugged in.

Works fine with S1 IS, see my review, I even show a picture of it with the camera.

Good luck finding a Muvo, they are basically sold-out everywhere.
