Default Why am I getting a NETWORK PASSORD Pop-up...

...when I come to your message board now? It didn't do this, this morning? It comes up on every page. Very strange.

Do you get the pop up on your home computer or work?

Work only... I think it has something to do with the ad at the top of the page. The image is "red x"ed, If I right click on it and and click "Show Picture", I get the same Password Popup box.

I believe that Steve (who runs the site) has stated that he will never have pop-up ads here.

I would guess that you have some spyware that is detecting the ad on this site and replacing it with its own. Just a wild guess, though.

Try downloading adaware or spybot and running them. You might be amazed at what they find.

Either that, or since this was at your business, I presume that it's probably behind a proxy server that caches the images or such. They were probably doing a bit of tweaking with it.

I already run Adaware and Spybot at least once a week.

This wasn't an ad pop-up. It was a usename/password/domain login dialogue box. It was as if I was trying to login is as an admin here. Like I said...very strange.

It could be that you company has a firewall or web cache server that keeps unauthorized traffic off the internet. At my work, we have a web cache server that restricts certain accounts from going to the internet (it's also capable of logging where you go). Anyway, my point is that our server is supposed to know who you are and not ask for your account log on, but it flakes out sometimes and it'll prompt for no reason. As long as you give it valid credentials, it lets you out, but if you don't you get a message that you are not authorized.

I had this same problem earlier today (about 1:00 pm), but on my home computer. Tried again this evening (9:30 pm) and it works fine.

We were doing some security reconfiguring of the main site, it should be all back to normal now.
