Default The Serial # of a camera--WHERE?

:? Duhhh....

Ok, I feel really dumb here. The side of the box has a number, that coresponds to the number on the packing slip. (NOT the Model #--I know what that is.)

But what I would have thought is the serial # on the bottom of the camera (a Olympus C-740) is different from the other number.

Grrrr....

Can anyone clear up my problem here?

The serial number on the camera should correspond to the serial number on the warranty card.

Sometimes the serial number is in the EXIF data in a photograph... sometimes it is in the camera's firmware... I don't know about your specific camera...
