Default Digital Rebel and Supershot A80

Will someone please give me a comparison of the Digital Rebel 300D and the Supershot A80. I have a 35mm Rebel now and like the fact that my lens will fit the Digital Rebel, but the price is about $600.00 less for the A80. Will I be disappointed with the A80 and do you think if I wait the price of the Digital Rebel we go down?

Do you mean the Canon Powershot A80?

I think it is highly unlikely you will find a review directly comparing the two because they are in two totally different categories:

Interchangeable lens DSLR vs. fixed lens point and shoot
6.3MP vs 3.9MP
$999 vs $368

I also think it will be unlikely to find one owner with both camera’s as they were both announced on 20 August 2003. So I doubt if someone would have bought the A80 and then moved up to the 300D or bought both at the same time.

Good Luck.

Sorry I did mean the Powershot. I was hoping someone with more knowledge than me(which is very little) could point me to the pros and cons of both and why I should buy one more than the other. As I said I already have the 35MM Rebel 2000 and some extra lens that would fit the Rebel 300d, but would I be better off to get the A80 and save $600. Any suggestion would be appreciated

Thanks

I would say a lot has to do with the type of photography that you want to do. For family snapshots and vacation photos, go with the less expensive point and shoots. For photography for the sake of obtaining the best images you can with a variety of subjects, the dSLR may better suit you.

As the commercial says: Where do you want to go?
