I like Sony electronics (and love my digital video camera by them) but I'd go with a Canon for stills.

I would have to say that the Canon A80 is by far a better camera. I bought a Sony P10 and took it back 5 days later because I hated it. I got bored with the automatic mode really quickly and then found out that it basicly had no manual controls. I wasn't impressed with it's pic. quality either. I've never owned the A80, but from what i've read on it and heard other people say about it, I'd have to say that it is a way better camera. It won't fit in your pocket as easily as the P10 though.

I had a P10 and didn't like it at all. I also had an A80 for awhile. The A80 is a far better camera.
