Default 4MP Camera

Hi there,
Can anyone help me with choosing a great 4MP digital camera that costs under $400? So far, the best I've found is the Canon S400/S410. I am satisfied with it, but in case I missed another potential, camera I'd like your input. I like the S400/S410 because of it's small size, quality and features. I don't really like the bulky A80.
Can you all recommend 3-5 top of the line 4MP compact or ultracompacts so I can make the right choice?

You might want to check out the Kodak DX 6440. I have the DX 6490 and I love it. I think the 6440 has a lot of the same features as the 6490, just doesn't have the 10X optical zoom.

Canon G2. Look on eBay. Saw some for under $400 this evening.

I take some fantastic shots with mine. Can't fault it.

Default Thanks

Hi there. Thanks you two. I don't particularly like the Kodak. I am looking at the G2. Not as compact as the S400, but it seems promising. I will look into it.

Anyone else with a recommendation?

Minolta Z2, though I guess it depends on your definition of compact.

I don't like 'too' compact. My husband uses a (?) really small point and shoot canon, and I think it's too small. My fingers get in the way of the shots, although the quality of the images is fantastic. He likes it because he can put it on his belt beside his cell phone.

Guess I'm too much of a camera snob to do that. (^J^)

Default No

Wow the Minolta Z2 is too huge. WHen I say compact. I mean something as smaller or slightly larger than the Canon S400/S410.

Does anyone have experience with the Pentax Optio S4i? I like it, but I hear the pictur quality is not comparable to the S400. The features are nice though and it offers more pciture modes than the S400 I believe.

Default Canon 400 or 410 is good

My friend has the Canon 400 - although you might want the 410 because of the picbridge - though I don't use the picbridge as I always use editing tool before I print my pictures. You won't go wrong with either one.

I don't like the canon A80 also, the size is okey with me but for me it looks cheap. That is my humble opinion only.... ops:

I got the Sony V1 and am perfectly happy with it.
