Default IOMEGA Zip drive, 59.95!!!

Just read off of DPreview, that Iomega is releasing a 7 in 1 memory card reader with a 1.44" floppy drive built in. Any one have any more info on this?

With 750MB zip disks selling for as little as 2 bucks each, that seems to be a worthy replacement for those of us who don't want to spend so much on the 20GB+ X's drive etc. etc.

You can buy a CDROM burner for about that same price. You can get blank CD-R's for about 50 cents each. A blank CDROM disk will hold 650 or 700 mb depending on the brand and the burner. DO NOT BUY MEMOREX CD MEDIA...EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE.

I think that you might have misunderstood what the Iomega Zip Drive with the 7 in 1 reader is...

Forgive me if I judged wrong. The CD burners that have a 7 in 1 or 8 in 1 reader to transfer pics onto a disk cost around 200.00 bucks.

CheckSix, it's a 1.44M floppy disk and not a 250M Zip drive. ops:

Basically it's a card reader with a bundled floppy disk... you can download less than 1 picture on that floppy disk!
