I can't complete a thought with all that busy wiggling going on at the left of the screen. Maybe it's okay for people who aren't touch typists, but this is a horror show for people like me. Anyone else about to go bonkers with it?

That's funny. I had to reply to see what you were talking about .... I guess because I look at the keyboard so much I hadn't noticed

Here it is, boys and girls: ;):P:?

Wow! I think I just found a semi-cure for it. Choose one of the little wiggle-pusses and they all stop...except for the one you've chosen and is now sitting smack-dab in the middle of your golden words.:(

Hmmm...doesn't seem to bother me (and I touch type). Of course, now that you've brought it to my attention, I've become acutely aware of the little buggers! :(

bcoultry May 5, 2004 7:44 PM

I've cured it! I choose one of the smilies, all the wigglers stop, then I delete the smilie, the wigglers remain dead, and I can then type in peace. Phew!

Steve, don't you DARE fix this!:X

Actually, if you just hit Esc after the page loads, they all stop. An added bonus is that the animated advertisements also stop.

I've been using "No Flash!" for over a year now. Not a single flash animation on any web page. It causes me a little problem here and there, when some web page uses flash for a menu... but in general I've been much happier. No flash ads and no moving animations.

Although some times I wonder if I'm missing something I'd be interested in. But I doubt it. You can find it here:

(I use version 1.5.3, and they are up to 2.1. I don't know the difference.) I think it works by changing registry entries. I don't actually have to have the program running to work, and this is the only thing that makes sense. This might not be true in the latest version, though.

Yes, ESC does the trick. I'll be doing this a lot. Thanks, Lauren!

Eric, I just checked the program and it appears that it might well throw the baby out with the bath water.

Unfortunately, none of the above tricks works for me (Mac with last supported Explorer v5.1).

I just slide the window left so that all of the fidgeting thingies are off screen.
