After reading ton's of reviews on the Fuji S5000 camera I am more confused now than before I started.

It is a sort of love hate relationship though. On one hand I would love this camera for it's looks, feel, 10X zoom, Low light focus lamp, and build quality. But on the other hand I don't want a camera I'm going to have to fight with, opening the battery compartment to unfreeze it, using Photoshop to eliminate noise, and have to look at all the artifacting so many people seem to be complaining about.
*
*Why did Fuji make the compression so high, and what's with the noise issue. People can say what they want but the images simply aren't as clean as those produced with my C3000. Yet I love this camera's looks so much, I may just buy it. Is there a site I can go to that has the jpeg images as they came right out of the camera? No I don't want to mess with the Raw files. I know that this freezing thing is a real problem because I was trying one hooked up to an AC adapter at Best Buy and sure enough it froze on me 3 times switching camera functions. To me these are real concerns.
*
*With my Olympus C3000 I take the picture either using full auto or tinkering around with all the settings, and the final results are most impressive. I rarely need Photoshop adjustments, and the camera never freezes. So again I'm struggling to decide wheather or not the great looks, feel and 10X zoom are worth all the hassles?:?

I own the S602Z, which is a couple of years before the S5000 and although the S5000 has more zoom 10X(which is important to me), I wouldn't trade mine in. I'm not impressed with the pics from the S5000.

Have you looked at our sample photos yet?

Our samples are always "straight out of camera" unless otherwise noted when we do a raw-jpeg conversion with the higher-end SLR cameras. We experienced no such camera "lockups" during our review process so maybe there is a bad batch of cameras out there now. I've seen no service or recall announcements from Fuji about it.

If I were going to print 11 x 14 pics, I wouldgo with the Fuji S7000 or Nikon 5700.
