Hi Steve

You've got an excellent website for all digital camera enthusiasts. How about your list of digital cameras with 10x optical zoom in your 'Best Cameras' section?

Of those two I would go with the Kodak. They're both good cameras, I just like the color and image quality of the Kodak better.

Steve, as long as you are here...

I have never taken photgraphy clases, but I want to learn ore and more and get cameras to "grow up with" that match my experience, if not are better.

I started out with my Nikon Coolpix 2100.

I then started using my mom's Canon Powershot G2.

Now I really really want something like the Canon DigitalRebel, but I don't know if I am ready for it.

Do you think I should stay with my mom's camera for a while, or use the money I saved up on the Digital Rebel?

Thank you!

Sorry bout that Steve....don't know how I could have missed your selection of 10x-12xcameras.

If you don't mind, what would your top 5 be among these zoom cameras: Olympus C770, Canon S1, Kodak DX6490, Panasonic FZ10 and Konica Minolta Z2. I think I've made up my mind on getting the C770 as my first digital camera but would appreciate your thoughts on this model.

Thanks a million.

It seems the more reviews I readon 10x Digital Cameras the more confusing it gets. I've narrowed my choices down to the Canon S1 IS and Olympus C 750, I think.

Image quality is my prime deciding factor with manual setting of focus, white balance, sharpness & contrastsecondary. The Image Stabilizer is nice on the Canon, however I'm pretty steady with my SLR 210mm lens and I do own a mini tripod.

Any insight on your preference of these two cameras (or any others I should consider)would be much appreciated.

Thanks
