I would like to use one of my photo's as my avatar, but I have not been able to reduce them to an acceptable size. My Fuji S7000 seems capable of only taking gigantrical(hugeompimous) sized pictures. Will the file sizesbe smaller if I go to a much smaller resolution, or am I pacifierizing myself? ( If I am paciferizing myself, keep it to yourself.) I would appreciate any information that would help myself, or others like me in the future. There are others like me aren't there?

I've increased the avatar sizes to 200 x 200 pixels max. with a max. filesize of 15Kb, this should help out some of you guys that couldn't fit one in the old 60 x 60 pixel size.

Moongypsy - you need to load your picture into a photo editing program and resize your picture down to fit into a max size of 200 x 200 pixels and then upload it to the forums here. Many of the image viewing programs will also let you resize a picture and then save it as a new image. Worst case scenario just attach a1M size image to a message here and I'm sure that someone will do it for you.

This is not exactly the photo that I wanted for my avatar, but...

I will keep it until I can get another. By the way, 160/160 pixels is the best I could do.
