Dear All

Just a simple question - Tell me your personal opinion, which one of these brands do you think come on number 1, 2 and 3. Canon, Nikon or Olympus. no complexities, simple question, I just need personal likes

Thanks

:idea:IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT YOU WANT. FILM OR DIGITAL?

I KNOW FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THAT NIKON WILL NEVER CHANGE THEIR LENS

MOUNT FOR THEIR SLR CAMERAS. THOSE WHO HAVE A LOT OF NIKON EQUIPMENT

WON'T BE SCREWED WHEN A NEW CAMERA IS INTRODUCED. SOME OF MY NEWER

LENS WILL WORK ON MY 30 YEAR OLD NIKKORMAT FT2. I HAVE TO USE STOP DOWN

METERING TO TAKE AN EXPOSURE READING, NOT SO HARD.

I would say for film equipment, I am totally for the OM system (Olypmus). When I first started the photo thing, my parents got me an OM-1, and since my mom has beaucoup lenses and accessories, it works great. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

For digital I have completely given my loyalty to Canon. I have fallen in love with the 10D, taken 8000+ pictures with mine since January, and am never looking back!

Assuming digital, it also depends on what level of photography, point&shoot, consumer, prosumer, dSLR/professional, etc. One company may make great consumer cameras, while the other is better at the higher end...there's no one that's better than the others at all levels! It's like comparing a Chevrolet Sprint with a Rolls Royce.
