Default Windows Photo Programs that handle EXIF?

Hi all,

I just got a Cannon G2. I noticed that it supports EXIF2.2, which apparently is a picture information header on each digital picture. I haven't heard of it before. Can someone tell me which Windows software packages support EXIF?

I currently use MGI/ROXIO Photoshop 4. Does it support EXIF? My camera came with Adobe Photoshop 5 LE, which I assume has EXIF capability, but may not be the best software to use.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks.

actually PS 5.0 le will wreck exif data doing any action if you save the new image as the original.

exif 2.2 is a printing extension of standard exif data it is similar to epsons PIM and PIM 2(just starting to show up)
it embeds color info for printers that support that function exif 2.2 is supported by canon

elements 2.0
Photoshop 7.0
paintshop pro 7.0

these will not wreck your standard exif data

ACDSEE 4.0 supports EXIF. Surprisingly ULEAD PhotoImpact 7.0 (trial) doesn't. Excifer is an excellent EXIF viewer, even allows you to save EXIF metadata to a separate file. I hate photoeditors that don't keep the EXIF data after editing.

Apparently (according to manual) PhotoImpact 7 full retail does save Exif data!
