hey there everyone.

not sure if u guys know, but this coming weekend, South Africa is hosting the first ever 2 seater formula 1 race.

its the normal formula one cars, but they have two seats in them.

i am going to watch the race, and am taking my F717 with me.

please could u guys recommend what ISO and or apperture i should use to get some decent shots.

i was thinking that ISO 400 should be enough, but i want to make sure that i dont end up with "FLAT" looking pics, so the depth of field needs to be correct as well.

what would u recommend.

thanks a lot.

I can't speak for F1 racing, but for drag racing, I set the camera to aperature priority mode andplay with both the ISO and aperature until I can get the shutter to about 1/250 or faster. A couple of weeks ago in bright sunlight I was able to get away with an ISO of 100 and an aperature or 4.8. I was usinga Nikon CP5000, with a Nikon 2x lens, and a Polarized filter.

The biggest thing to remember is that the cars move fast, so try to set as many things (focus distance, white balance, etc.)manually as possible. The second thing to remember is take as many shots as you can.

Here is a link to one of my better pictures from the drag races. At this point in the race these cars would be going about 100 MPH. I forgot my memory cards so I was forced to dig out the little one buried in the bottom of my bag, and only shhot at 640x480 resolution. This is straight out of my camera.
