The "best" depends on a lot of things. What is your experience in photography? What do you value in usefulness of a camera? Are you willing to work to get the most from a camera? How much control do you need?

Hi sreshta,
I assume that you are from India, and you should take into consideration the trends there when actually buying a new digicam.
It is quiet evident that Nikon is the current choice of Pros and Amatuers alike in India, and Minolta happens to be one of the least popular of the lot (IMHO).
So when deciding for the camera you should think about the service that is readily available, the Resale value etc.
I am not trying to belittle any specific product, as a matter of fact i like Canon Technologically better then the Nikon but am holding a Nikon Equipment for the simple reasons mentioned earlier.
The final decision is yours though,
Thanks.

just looked up camera servicing in the asia subcontinent for both minolta and nikon. it seems their sort of neighbors in singapore. i wouldn't want a local tearing into my digital wonder camera. just another opinion.

The issue is of ethical significance. Nikon is part of the Mitsubishi Zybatsu and is highly moral. Minolta is part of a secrtet alliance with underworld characters who deal in illicit whale meat. Nikon donates freely to envronmental causes while Minolta supports Bush.

Obviously I am spoofing.
