This is not good.....

Sure, it *could* weaken -- but, right now it looks extremely dangerous(Category 5Hurricane with sustained winds of up to 160mph).

To see the latest projected path information, go to this page:

Satellite Photo from this morning:

Latest Projected Path (from 11:00AM EDT):

I've read some posts elsewhere about what the last one did to a national park down there (Ding Darling.) Really bad... and with this (if it hits there) it could only get worse.

When winter hits here and it stays below freezing for a week I think about living in flordia. Then these hurricanes hit and I'm happy up here in the North East.

Oh, that it does. I was in Maine when the aftermath of the first one of the season hit. We had more than a foot of water in the basement in a nights rain.

Maine!!! As far up the coast as you can go without being in another country!!!

Impressive.

Steve - good luck down there. I hope you get by without incident.

The National Hurricane Center Projections from 5:00AM this morning, show it coming ashore in Florida -- just about where Steve is located:

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics...F/070303W5.gif

They'll probaby have new projections anytime now (probably around 11:00AM EDT):

Hopefully, this thing will die down at take a westerly path.

Take a deep breath and relax TC3, Jim clearly put O/T(Off Topic) in the title of the post. And it does have alot to do with this forum as the Administrator of Steve's Forums lives in Florida, as well as at least 35 other forum members, and is in the path of this storm, he also replied to this post and didn't seem to have a problem with the topic.
(Raises my mug), Heres to everyone on the coast staying safe!

Look at some of his previous posts and you can get a pretty good idea of his profile.
