Default Pics on CD

I am interested in saving digital pics to CD for viewing on my computer (using a CD-ROM drive) or TV (using a DVD player). Do I have to use any special application to do this? How do I produce a slide show of pics?

it depends if you want to make a slide show of it. xp does some cool little things like downloads a baseline slideshow files to a drive that you xfr to and when you put it in another windows 98 and above machine it starts a show.

You'll find some programs listed here that let you make DVD-playable pictures CD's with a regular CD-R type drive:

I have used TVWriter quite a bit myself.
