Default reading histogram

hi y'all....just got a minolta dimage 7i...luv it...my first real digicam..question? How do you read the HISTOGRAM in the camera? i see the graph high and low peaks. what does it mean? is there a site than cam explain this?

Also you can tell when you need a fill-in flash when most pixels are grouped to the left...

Pictures are usually overexposed if the peaks are clipping (flat-top by the live histogram)
