Default Posting a notice on old boards...

It took me (and I assume others) to find the new boards...if I can make a suggestion you post a notice whenever someone goes to an old forum to come to the new one.

Thanks for the info, I'll have my forum admin look into why it is sending the wrong URL in that email notification.

And I don't know how someone could log into the old forums, we have a URL-redirect on the old address that sends people to the new forums. I look into that as well.

The forum I had bookmarked is:

http://www.stevesforums.com/forum/fo...lay.php?fid=22

I'm an Oly user, and that's the only forum I'm interested in...I go there and I just sit there in the old forum with no messages, no redirection or indication of anything happened but the messages dissappearing.

We will fix that shortly by deleting the entire old forum directory from the server. If you try to log into it now you'll just get the usual error 404 - page not found.

Default I LIKE IT!

Steve, the upgraded forum is great! Now that I've had a few days to look over it, here's some feedback:

Thanks for adding the "Since Last On..." capability. It's really nice not having to worry that I've missed some posts using the old "Posts in Last Day" function because I haven't logged on in a few days.

I was concerned at first about the default 1024x768 resolution display, but I see it's back to the standard 800x600-- MUCH nicer!

The only concern I have is the links to the old posts are missing. I guess we'll just have to deal with that. If somebody asks, we can just find the thread for them.

Thanks again for all you do, it's a wonderful forum!

 Wow, it happened again. I disapear for a couple weeks and the whole system revamps. Just been on for a little bit this eveing and it is just great. Congrats to the up-grade.....

Pst...tried color text in a different post and it didn't take.

COLOR

Just me, I guess you have to space your text between the two ][ . Helps to follow the simple instructions at the top of the box where you enter your message " PLACE TEXT HERE "

Pst 2... now all we need is a spell-checker

"Posting a Picture
To enter a picture it must be stored out on the Internet somewhere already, we do not host your images. The place where your image is hosted must allow it to be called from another domain or else your picture will not appear. Some hosting sites have blocked this ability so your pictures will only be seen if you are at their web site. Many of the "free" photo hosting sites are this way, sorry we can't do anything about it. "

To Steve the admin.:

Maybe you could list up some free photo hosting sites. It's a bit of a problem for some members, Including me, to find one ?

Thanks for a great update!

Steve,
Do you have to "log in" to view the
forum? I have checked the "log in auto"
box, but I still have to manually log in
every time I visit.
