Default Skagit River Bald Eagle Viewing

Anyone has taken photos at Skagit River in Wa st. for eagles? Any recommendation? How about protection from the rain? Any best time or position for the best angles?

I went in January... no really close viewing. On the way back home I saw one on a power pole right here on Whidbey Island, about five miles from home. It's really a crap shoot. Jan/Feb are usually the best months.

Consider a trip to see the geese and swans in the Skagit during the same time. The two locations are only about 30 miles apart.
