Just purchased the 8800 and is it me or does their manual leave a lot to be desired. I don't think it explains things very good at all. I' trying to find out if it has modes for action, portrit, landscape, but can't find anything on it. Maybe it doesn't have simple modes like that. Other cameras I've seen has a dial you turn it to a skier for action, picture of a head for protrit, and picture of mountians forlandscape.

I see in themanual they will talk about somthing but not tell you how to get there or how to find it Etc. Seemsdifficult tome.

In looking at Steve's review and the specs for the 8800 it appears it has 15 different "scene" modes. I see the selector dial on top of the camera has a "scene" position. I don't have this camera nor a manual for it but I'd suggest you look up "scene" in the index of your user manual.
