Hi!

Is the S-family growing in the nearest future? Mainly I'm interested in the S5i model. I don't want to buy it now and find out that in a few months a newer model i available.

Thanks,
Greg

Then plan on never having a camera. When a new model comes out there will be another just down the road. The Optio S was released in April 03. Since then there have been the S4, 4i, and 5i. That comes to a new version around every 6 months up to the release of the 5i.

I don't know of a higher pixel 1/2.5 sensor available that would fit in a new model, so improvements would probably be in features. The only one I would like to see is manual exposure.

Yeah, you're problably right but I will wait until the PMA 2005 show reviels the latest products.

IMHO the sub-compact cameras could have more manual controls.
