Hello,

New to the Forum. Anyways, I have worked in a Photo Lab almost 4 years and I was asked a question today I've never been asked...Can you save pictures from your camera (say Nikon Coolpix 8700) to a USB Jump Drive by connecting the USB cable to the Jump Drive? It's an interesting idea, I have a hunch it's not possible due to the lack ofsoftware, but if it is, it could save some money on expensive high speed memory cards.

Thanks,

Matt:idea:

Simple answer is no. The camera won't recognize it, sorry.

I sorta do something like that.

My pentax optio 30 uses the small SD memory card.

I have a Wolverine jump drive (USB), that instead of having memory built in, lets me insert the SD memory card in the side of it.

Then, I insert the jump drive into the USB port of my computer and copy the photos off it.

I'm not sure if wolverine still makes the jump drive with the little SD memory slot. But what a fantastic idea.
