I am looking at possibly buying a Digital Rebel from a gentleman in Canada.

I live in the US.

Does anyone know if I will be responsible to pay any expensive import taxes or duties?? The price of the camera is spot on and i would hate to have that ruined by outragous government fees.

Appreciate any and all replies

It depends on the purchase price of the camera and how long you stay in Canada. If you stay there for a week, you can bring back up to $400 worth of goods duty free (not including alcohol). If you are there for less than a week, the duty-free limit is $100. I don't know if this applies to private sales or not.

Contact your nearest US Customs office or check their website for more information.
