From all the information I have received is that to get rid of redeye you need to use a flash attachment. The only cameras I see that have this are prosumer, dSLR and cameras weighing over a pound. Does anyone know of a camera that has this that is smaller and has more than 5 MP? Thanks

The Nikon 4500 is only 4 MP and doesn't have a hot shoe, but it has a flash sync terminal and excellent external flash system. Here are the details:

If you can stand a cameraat instead of more than 5mp, then consider the Sony V1 and Nikon 5400, both of which are small cams w/hotshoe. The Nikon has a $200 rebate, bringing the price down to around $230. Not bad for a metal camera with wide-angle 4x zoom.

The relatively tiny Sony P150 and P200 7.1Mp cameras don't have a hot shoe BUT Sony has a slave flash attachment for them

that moves the flash away from the lens and reduces the chances of redeye. There will still be some...but it might solve the majority of the cases AND provide a GN14 flash that is much better than the built-in flash alone.
