Is it noraml for digicams to not be able to zoom in and out while recording? I have a Canon a95 and Im not able to. First time messing with the record function, so Im a little surprised. I can zoom in and out before I record though... while is kind of odd.

That's normal on Olympus digicams as well.

It's normal. Not all digital cameras are like that though. But I think for now...it's not uncommon to have the lack of ability to zoom in and out during recording.

Yes it is normal because the A95's zooming produces noise like many other digicams. Try getting the S2 IS which has 12x optical zoom and the zoom is usable during movie mode or the Ixus 700 which can digital zoom.
