Hi all, Might anyone explain in Photoshop how I could make a border then add a watermark,I'm not fond of watermarking programs that are just bloat-ware and would like to know how to do this in PS and thanks very much in adavance and pleas e4-give the newbie post :?:

There are lots of ways.

You could make a custom brush with your name/logo on it and just stamp that on your photo at something less than 100% opacity. Or you could have your watermark on a new layer and set the opacity to 50% so the underlying photo shows through.

Simple borders can be made by increasing the canvas size and setting the colour so the extra bit becomes the colour you want.

There are some built in "actions" that will make proper looking frames.

Will you want to automate this to work on a group of files at once?

No not really just for some of the better pictures is all. I thought it had to do with the canvas size but wasnt sure lol and thanks for your help cuz its appreciated and going to have a go at it:-)

Wagaboo- I shoot horse shows and post on my site.
I have to watermark to protect against illegal printing.

I use a program from AiS watermark that lets you custom build your watermark, and save the settings. The neat part is you can do dozens at a time and the computer does all the work. It is cheap but does a very good job...quickly.
