Can anyone enlighten me to which is the best setting to use either sRGB or Adobe RGB in the menu function. I have been on the understanding that the sRGB setting is the standard one to use but recently have read in 2 digital camera mags that the Adobe RGB is slightly larger colour space and is more suited to digital photography. Can i have some views and advice on this please. regards.

I'll give you my "opinion."

There are a number of different file formats tghat differ in the amount of the color spectrum. There are many choices, not just the ones you mention.

I shoot in Adobe color for the very reason you state, but I then convert the images to sRGB, because when it come time to print it doesn't make that much difference.

This in fact (and here's the opinion) is the way high bit depth color scanners work. They scan a MUCH higher color depth, but when loaded into your image processing program, throw away the extra data. It's probably better to capture your image with this higher spectrum, and then throw away information, than to shoot in a lower spectrum and be stuck with whatever limitations there are.

These programs use "intelligent"algorhythms to make these choices.

Now let someone who really knows what their talking about answer...
