If you edited any of your older files, with an older editor and don't have the cam original files, chances are your editor will have stripped the EXIF data on save. I think the early freeware versions of ACDsee stripped the EXIF data, V4 is OK.

Does only the newer cameras write EXIF files?
Just downloaded IfranView to go with my new Oly 4000 and then found out that my 4 year old kodak DC210 recorded full EXIF info

Lin, I downloaded "infranview" but have not installed it yet.
What is this "allplugins" thing you mentioned to download?.
I saw a whole bunch of things that were extra add ons, but I have no idea where to look.
Would just the program be ok that I already downloaded?
Bill :?

the allplugins is a zip file that contains various .dll files. These .dll files will give Irfan View extra features, such as the ability to view EXIF data.

The program you have already is fine, but it will not view the EXIF data without the plugin. Get the plugin, and copy all of the .dll files (or just the EXIF dll file) Irfanview's installation directory.
